New Year, New Me. :)

Well, not completely new, but I am in the process of re-branding. As some of you may know I now shoot weddings with the fabulous Michael Hanlon of Hanlon Weddings. We are going to be forming 'Hanlon-Fiske Studios' to cover the gamut of what we do. Between Michael and I we shoot not only weddings and boudoir, but also children, maternity, newborns, families, music and events. We have our Hanlon Weddings and Ciao Bella Boudoir sites, but Hanlon-Fiske Studios will bring all of this together so that no matter what your need, you'll know if we can do it (the short answer is YES! :)).

So in the mean time I ask for patience. It may take a bit to get everything together for the site. Rest assured, if you contact myself or Michael, we'll be able to talk about your photography needs. Until the 'Hanlon-Fiske Studios' site is live I'll post images and updates here, as well as on my Beautiful, Powerful, Sexy Little Blog. You can also find images on the Hanlon Weddings site and the Hanlon Weddings Blog.

NYC, Yoga, Maternity, Newborn, Love!

I love NYC! Some of you may be aware that I have started offering Ciao Bella Boudoir sessions in NYC. Honestly, I think the temperature in Manhattan goes up a few degrees whilst we're doing those sessions!

Being in NYC has also brought me the opportunity to shoot other types of sessions while I'm there, including engagement sessions (with Michael Hanlon for our business Hanlon Weddings), model portfolios, headshots for business people, events, maternity and newborn sessions.

My latest maternity and newborn session was absolutely amazing! This woman is stunning inside and out. She is a yoga instructor and at 8 months could get her body into positions I didn't know were possible! A's maternity session was so fun and easy. She was so at peace and full of joy it simply filled the room as we shot her session.

And I had the complete joy of returning to photograph her gorgeous son a few weeks later. He is so perfect!

I am so grateful for the opportunities that have been coming my way. The joy all of the people I have been meeting have brought to my life is immeasurable. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fall in Rochester: love, love, love it!

I love fall. I love the changing leaves, the boots and sweaters and most of all, the light. It has this orange-y, warm glow about it in the mid afternoon. That meant that when I had a client call and say "Hey, can you shoot our family session this afternoon?" I was more than ready and ecstatic! It helps, of course, when the family is this photogenic and the kids love having their pictures taken. ;) I'll keep saying it, I am one lucky girl. Thank you to Michael Hanlon www.hanlonweddings.com for assisting and shooting, it's a pleasure as always.

This is the 5th time I've photographed this little one, no wait, actually I think it's the 6th time. lol. I did her momma's maternity shoot, and have done her portraits from newborn until this year, her 3 year old session. She gets seriously cuter every time and is now talking nonstop (not sure where she could possibly get that from, eh momma K? Miss L gave me a great workout chasing her all over Durand Eastman, following random dogs, butterflies and falling leaves. Loved every minute and the resulting images. Thank you for coming to me year after year! I am so fortunate to be a part of your lives!

I am so completely in love with this one. Love that she's facing away, in her own little world in beautiful light. Le sigh.

Love in the Fall

I love love love the colors John & Laura used for their wedding! Fall is definitely my favorite time of year and Laura's color choices reflect fall so beautifully! Her mother made the flower arrangements and seems to have missed her calling in life! The bouquets were stunning! Laura made her own necklace, which is amazing! Talent abounds in this family! John and Laura are so in love and decided to do a 'first look' before the ceremony. Let's just say John had a hard time containing his emotions over seeing his gorgeous bride.

Love and the sunset in NYC

As some of you may know, I am now shooting weddings with Michael Hanlon of Hanlon Weddings. We had the extreme pleasure of photographing a simply amazing couple in NYC last weekend. Lucy & Jaime are not only stunningly beautiful to look at, they are two of the sweetest, most down to earth, completely in love and fun people I have ever had the honor of meeting, let alone, photographing. We ran around the West Village finding amazing little nooks to photograph the two of them, ending our evening at the river with a stunning sunset.

Jaime and Lucy, thank you for the pleasure of your company and allowing us to share in the joy that is your love.

This is the 3rd year I've had the joy of photographing this little boy. I did his newborn pics, his one year and now, unbelievably, his 2 year portraits! I'm putting one from each session up here to show him growing up. Serious cuteness! Oh, and mom? You ROCK! For his 1 year he destroyed a cake :), this time? He ran through puddles until he was so soaked momma stripped him and we did more pics bare-bummed. :) Love that my clients are willing to just have fun!

One of the most beautiful baby girls I have ever photographed. Seriously. She was one week old the day her momma and daddy brought her in to me. Perfection! I could photograph newborns everyday and never get tired of it. I love that they brought her in before she reached 2 weeks. It makes for some amazing images of a newborn because they're so easy to position love being curled up into anything. Congratulations M & J! She's the very definition of perfection. Thank you for letting me share in this time with you.

I cannot believe how quickly time has flown! I had a great holiday season and I hope you did as well!

Now that January is upon us, it's time to start thinking about those High School Senior portraits. For those Seniors I worked with last year, remember; for every 4 clients you send me that book a session (this can be any type of session, not just Seniors) you get a $25.00 iTunes gift card. (Courtney, you have a little surprise coming in your mailbox soon ~ hint hint ;)) I need Senior reps from area schools. A senior rep pays the lowest High School Senior package and gets a mini session in the spring, cards to hand out before the end of their Junior year, a full day session in the summer and 15% off all prints ordered. In return I ask that you try to bring me as many other seniors as possible. If you are interested in being a 2010 Senior rep for me call me ASAP!!

For all those clients who are not High School Seniors, I am booking sessions now! My studio is coming along beautifully and I may have big news there soon (I'll keep you updated!) If you are pregnant I encourage you to look at my site. Check out the maternity portraits. You may not feel gorgeous, but you are! Getting maternity portraits done is such a fantastic gift for yourself! In fact, it makes a great shower gift! If you are interested in purchasing a gift certificate for someone you know who is expecting, call me and we can discuss the options that are available. Moms-to-be, you can even register with me. Simply email me and we can set up an account for you. Then you can register with me and your friends can purchase any amount they want. You can then put that toward a maternity or newborn session (or both!). Remember, maternity sessions are best done in the last 2 months, newborn sessions are best done in the first 2 weeks.

From the above beautiful belly came the most beautiful baby boy! I had the extreme honor of photographing 'S's' pregnancy and the gorgeous baby 'M' that she and dh 'M' Brought into the world just a week ago! Thank you for allowing me to celebrate with you!

I was so excited to be able to use my 'new' antique bowl I found this week. And of course, we were able to incorporate elephants into a few pics! I'm so pleased with the results and I hope you are too!

Well, here I go into the realm of the unknown. Well, for me, at least. I am starting my blog. I'll be using this to keep in touch with my clients, letting you know when I have specials going on, giving you previews of your sessions, and of course, random chatter, prattle, babbling, depending on my mood!

So for today my babble is as follows:

I have a new studio! It's an amazing space in the community of the arts off University Ave! I am so excited to be there! I am in the middle of making the dressing area very 'Rock & Roll', it's all black denim and zebra, gotta love it! So now I do on-location AND studio photography. I've got it all covered! I can't wait to get my High School Seniors there for some amazing sessions! The area surrounding the studio is equally amazing!

So: Call me High School Seniors! Come check out my new studio and we'll create some amazing, unique senior portraits! Check out my site for all the info. I have packages ranging from 'The Garage Band' to 'The Diva'. For the 'Diva' I have an AMAZING stylist who will do your make-up and hair. Her name is Sara Lovell. She works out of a salon in Irondequoit called 'Hair Extraordinaire'. She does my hair and I LOVE her! She is absolutely amazing!

Remember, you only get to do your High School Senior portraits once, do it right!
